Jul 28, 2020 · The problem was that the Invoice Processing System that I built was made using Python and Django, so finding a way to achieve the task seemed difficult in the initial days. After doing some research and looking for some resources, I stumbled into a Python library called shareplum which helps you to interact with SharePoint using Python.
SharePy will handle authentication for your SharePoint Online/O365 site, allowing you to make straightforward HTTP requests from Python. It extends the commonly used Requests module, meaning that returned objects are familliar, easy to work with and well documented.
Example: from shareplum import Site from requests_ntlm import HttpNtlmAuth cred = HttpNtlmAuth ('Username', 'Password') site = Site SharePlum will automatically convert the name of the column that is displayed when you view your list in a web browser to the internal SharePoint name so you don't have to worry about how SharePoint stores the data.
Example Python Scripts for SecureCRT ® for Windows and Mac. The following scripts written in Python are examples of how to perform specific tasks using the Python script execution capabilities of SecureCRT for Windows and Mac. They can also be used as a guide to writing your own scripts.
If it is just short term data move or something similar, something to be done in a couple of hours you can still use Shareplum. Will just have to go to your sharepoint site in the browser of your choice and manually grab the cookies. Then add them in share plum example below in Python 3 using http.cookiejar
